Bloody Cyclists

So, there I was, driving along minding my own business. I'd been into town job hunting (having given up my old job when I went back after my wedding holiday because a) there wasn't enough work and b) I couldn't be bothered to cope with the other girl in the office who was really being nasty in a sneaky way (she'd archived my folder into the 'old employees' section while I was on holiday - I can take a hint) and was on my way back home. I'd stopped at the lights at a junction to cross a major road and was in the left hand lane (arrowed to go straight across or right, the right hand lane was just right). The lights went green and I set off, I saw the cyclist ahead of me and on my left and made sure that I kept away from them on my way across (they're notoriously bad in this city) and had got mostly past them when BANG. In my mirrors is a cyclist in the middle of the road. Shit.

So I pull over once across the junction and rush back to help her up. It turns out that she'd wanted to turn right and 'hadn't noticed' that my car was there. Great. Large scratches down the side. Anyway, I search through the car for tissues for her and this guy comes over, asks if I'm ok. I told him that I was and that she'd run into the back of my car and I look round and she's bloody gone! No name, no nothing.

I shakily went home and then rang Graham who told me to go and search for her, which I did, with no success. I then went and reported it to the police in case she tried to claim I was a hit and run.

This means we're left to pay the excess. Fan-bloody-tastic

We really didn't need this.

Also, jobs are really thin on the ground so stress is happening (although, as I typed this, I had a phone call from an agency regarding a junior paralegal job, though they'll take an experienced secretary, with chances to go up through the ranks if I want so I told her to put me forward for it right away! fingers crossed!)
