Thank god it's Friday

The subject says it all, really.    Mind you, unless the wind calms down I’m not going to have a very happy husband all weekend so I may be looking forward to Monday fairly soon!

I have a poorly husband.   The poor thing has been sniffling and snuffling and coughing all weekend and I, as dutiful wife, have been supplying him with all sorts of pills for his ills (mainly Sudafed and Strepsils, wonderful stuff) and lots of sympathy (though, according to him, I could have given more – he’s a sympathy addict).  He has a cold.   He, however, is convinced that it must be something more…   Something awful…   Something deadly.    Throughout the weekend he’s listed all the possible diseases that he has from Alzheimer’s to Meningococcal meningitis, from Malaria to anything with the word streptococcal in it, from Bird Flu to the Hendra Virus*.    What is it about men?   *for those not in the know, or in Australia recently, that’s horse flu

No, honestly I am J  My visa came through yesterday!   I know the guy said that he would look at it and try and get it through before I left the country in September but I never expected it to be this quick!   So, I’ve got 2 more years of being a temporary resident then I have to tell them that yes, we are still together and then I’m permanent!*   Oh, and Graham came home with a fairly decent (and very comfortable, I must admit) huge, lounge suite yesterday**   All in all quite a good day J   *Apologies for the overload on exclamation marks…   **  My question being immediately ‘So where are we going to put this huge 3 piece suite in our teeny tiny lounge?’  The answer?  ‘We’re going to have to look for a bigger house, aren’t we?’

Bad things today: I have had a headache since getting to work. This has not abated. Grrr I had a phone call from the Department of Immigration saying that I owed them extra money However, I have managed to keep my spirits up a bit because of good things today: My husband went fishing and caught a large Spanish mackerel and some other fish so he’s in a really good mood. The extra money was only $15 so not exactly bank breaking stuff. I had a phone call from the Department of Immigration saying that they’ve received my application and because of the stuff up with my payment, (it wasn’t my fault I underpaid them, I only did what I was told) they’re going to try and push my application through. I have a really nice case file worker at the Dept. It’s Friday. It’s Friday It’s Friday
